Best U.S. Cities for Home Buyers in 2026

A new WalletHub analysis has identified the best U.S. cities for home buyers in 2026, ranking 300 cities based on 17 factors, including housing affordability, market conditions, job growth, home values and new construction.

Frisco, Texas, ranked No. 1. Nearly 47% of its homes were built between 2010 and 2024, giving buyers access to newer properties. Frisco also benefits from strong job growth and relatively favorable housing costs.

Other cities near the top include McKinney, Texas, at No. 2, and Murfreesboro, Tennessee, at No. 3. McKinney stands out for its rapid job growth and large supply of newer homes, while Murfreesboro has strong residential development and a healthy local economy.

The rest of the top 10 includes Durham and Cary, North Carolina; Denton and Allen, Texas; and Charlotte, North Carolina, highlighting the strength of Southern housing markets.
